A Look at Our Practice

Laughing Giraffe Therapy (aka The Giraffe) was started by pediatric Occupational Therapist, Aaron DeNardo. Its doors were opened in October of 2015. Aaron passionately carries the vision of an integrated, collaborative, multi-disciplinary pediatric clinic offering Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Psychology and Nutrition services.

We currently offer individual occupational therapy sessions for children with a wide range of diagnoses including, but not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD/ADHD and Learning Differences. The Giraffe will offer group OT in the future. We have also partnered with Peninsula Associates to offer speech services as well.

The Giraffe is centrally located in San Jose, CA near O'Connor Hospital, Valley Fair Mall and Santana Row and is easily accessible from Highways 280 and 880.  We have plenty of off-street parking.

Non-Violent Communication (NVC) Practice Group

Monthly Community Drum Circle

On the second Saturday of each month, our clinic hosts a community drum circle. It begins at 4:00 PM and goes as long as the group wants to go. Generally it ends by 7:00 PM. It is open to all comers and no previous drumming experience is necessary to participate. If you have a drum and a chair please bring them.  Otherwise, there are always extra drums and chairs to use. Drumming is known to have many beneficial effects. It is organizing, connecting, grounding, healing, and fun. Information and announcments about the circle can be found at the Bay Area Drum Circle Meetup page.
